This notice explains how Pi of Things Limited (“we”) handles personal data collected through this website. We are the data controller. Pi of Things Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 14116530, registered office 90 Windsor Road, Swindon, SN3 1LA, United Kingdom.
The short version
This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking, and it doesn’t load anything from other companies’ servers. The only personal data we receive is what you send us, through the contact form or by email, and the standard logs our server keeps.
What we collect
- If you use the contact form or email us: your name, email address, organisation (if you give one) and your message.
- When you visit any page: our server logs record your IP address, browser details, the page requested and the time. These logs aren’t linked to anything you send us.
Why we use it
- Your enquiry: only to reply to you and continue the conversation you started. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where you’re asking about working with us, taking steps you’ve asked for before entering a contract.
- Server logs: to keep the site secure and running reliably. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in doing that.
We don’t use your data for marketing, we don’t sell it, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.
Who handles it
Contact-form messages and emails are delivered to our mailbox at Fastmail, our email provider, which handles them only on our behalf. Fastmail stores email outside the UK, in the United States. Our agreement with Fastmail includes the safeguards UK data protection law requires for that transfer. Nobody else receives your data unless the law requires us to share it.
The website itself runs on our own server. There’s no database behind the contact form, so nothing you send is stored on the website.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to 12 months after our last exchange. If your enquiry leads to work together, we keep the correspondence for as long as that work and our legal obligations require.
- Server logs: up to 14 days, then deleted automatically.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. You can also object to how we use it. Email hello@piofthings.ai and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
